What types of transportation do you use during an average week, and how has this shaped your view of transportation policy?

Currently, I use my car for transportation weekly. However, there have been times when I had to use public transportation: Bus, Elevated/Subway to get to and from work.

Shaped my views: In a large metropolitan city, like the Chicagoland area, it is good to have alternative travel options. Upgrades in transportation for faster travel, safer travels and to reduce air pollutants for a healthier environment overall.

Therefore, it is important to ensure the public transportation system has funding to maintain, upgrade and provide safe travel for the public. And upgrade bus stops for individuals, which it appears is happening. However, like wise it's important to ensure funding is NOT wasted, departments use budgets most efficiently, and audits conducted to ensure budget on point.

What are some transportation challenges in your district?

ROUTES accessibility of transportation to provide options for individuals; SAFETY is a challenging issue; CONDITIONS of bus and train stops is an issue. However, it appears upgrading bus and train stops are in motion in different area and some look great. Fares will be an ongoing issue for the everyday working individual until some plan is presented and implemented for the individuals who uses transportation daily to get to and from work and that travel expense consumes a nice part of the individuals (lower wage working citizen) income.

How do you view Congress’s role in setting priorities for public transit, passenger rail, and strengthening accessibility in transportation?

I view congress role in public transit is working with Transit to ensure funding is allotted for the needs of the constituents in the district. For all components of transportation and coming up plans to make traveling on bus, train and subways more cost efficient for the user of the system

What’s your position on the Federal government and Illinois’ current transportation infrastructure spending, and if you could change anything, what would it be?

Appears October 2025, Governor J.B Pritzker implemented a six-year $50.6 Billon dollar infrastructure plan. Need to research more to determine if I could change anything. Primary interest as Federal representative would be to encourage efficient spending.

What is your position on investing to expand passenger rail service in Illinois, including the development of high-speed rail?

Support the initiative.

Federal funding for Illinois transportation projects – such as the Red Line Extension and Red-Purple Modernization projects – has come under threat from the Trump administration. How do you plan to shore up funding for critical infrastructure projects under a hostile federal climate?

Calling a meeting amongst all involved. The President, the Governor, the Mayors and Illinois Dept of Transportation. Explain the importance of the project, ensure the budget will be used most efficiently. We must deal with the realities of the whole situation. Need information re: status of the project

Our streets have become increasingly militarized in the past several months as the Trump administration has ramped up DHS and ICE activity in our cities. This past summer, Congress voted to increase the ICE budget larger than most of the world's militaries.

What is your position on ICE and related immigration enforcement?

We must deal with the real facts. About 8 million immigrants crossed the boarders and entered the USA, over the last few years. 30,000 were bussed to Chicago, a sanctuary city. Who were those people? This is why I.C.E. is in Chicago and other sanctuary cities. At entry point Texas identification cards should have been provided; thumb print or eye scan, if no proof of identity was provided. This way, at least, we know who is or came from where. I.C.E. is in Chicago to find the criminals and other who are illegally here. It's unfortunate the issues I.C.E has caused as well as the Protestors have caused. There is nothing wrong with protesting. It's a human right to protest in the USA but there appears to be more to some of these protesting rally's/movement than what one can see. All I will say.

Congress/Senate job is to advise I.C.E. under Dept. of Homeland Security to do right, doing their job. Congress job is to advise Protestor to do right, Protesting. Congress job is to ensure government works for the people, not against the people. To prevent unfairness and unnecessary hardship on their constituent base.

I promote PEACEFUL PROTESTING, not harassing protesting. I am for IMMIGRATION REFORM, not demolishing I.C.E. The primary problem is HOW I.C.E. is doing their job, an important job, whether we acknowledge it or not.
